Vassie Holmes McDaniel

Vassie Holmes McDaniel, 98, of Memphis, formerly of Dyersburg died Monday, July 29, 2013 at Methodist Hospice Residence. She was a homemaker and member of Lucy Baptist Church in Millington. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend David Lawrence. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Scotty Nash, Andy Nash, Josh Hicks, Jake McDaniel, Larry McDaniel and Lance Clark. The McDaniel family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 31st at the funeral home. She is survived by her her son Larry McDaniel and wife Carolyn of Atoka, her daughter Kathy McDaniel Cook and husband Javus of Ripley,her sister, Fern Nash of Bonicord, 3 grandchildren Brandy Clark and husband Lance, Joshua Hicks and wife Kim, Jake McDaniel and 4 great-grandchildren, John Oliver, Jessica Oliver, Hanna Hicks and Samantha Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. McDaniel, her parents Perry Allen and Nora Collins Holmes, 4 brothers, Elmo Holmes, Bud Holmes, Ray Holmes, Chuck Holmes and 1 great-grandson, Hunter Hicks.
