Becky Ozment

Becky Ozment, 84, loving wife and mother, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at her residence. Every person who met her was greeted with a smile. She was always filled with love and concern for others. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, member of various church organizations, and an active volunteer at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center, Union Mission, and working at the elementary schools with young children. She was formerly involved in Social Services, Human Resources and worked for Dyersburg State Community Service. Becky enjoyed golf, pickleball, bridge, tennis (in her younger years), skiing, gardening and travel. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 15, 2014 in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church conducted by Dr. Phillip Cook and Dr. David Russell. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Ozment, Albert Fowlkes, Richard Swain, Jerry Lock, John Talley and Bill Revell. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sewing Circle husbands and their spouses. The family will receive friends Friday, March 14th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church and also Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 am until service time in the Sanctuary of the church. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jere Ozment of Dyersburg, one daughter Julia Ozment Smith of Jacksonville, FL, two sons Tim Ozment of Oklahoma City, OK, Alex Ozment of Bartlett and two grandchildren Mary Alice Ozment and John Ozment. She was preceded in death by her parents John Burke and Ann Morris Smith.
