Gerald Holt Reasons, 87, of Dyersburg died Monday, April 28, 2014 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 20, 1926 to Dolphus and Edna Holt Reasons, he was lifelong farmer with his older brothers. He joined Richwood Methodist Church as a youth and later attended Finley United Methodist Church where he was a devoted member and served on many committees. He was an avid fisherman and greatly enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in Japan. Funeral services for Mr. Reasons will be at 11:00 am Thursday, May 1, 2014 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Ralph Gunter. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Reasons, Bob Brock, Louis Rosenberg, Travis Irvin, Keith Perry, Gene Bolte and Mike Bohannon. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Men's Sunday School Class at Finley United Methodist Church, Marshall Baker, Billy Miles Davis and James Cooper. The Reasons family will receive friends Wednesday, April 30th from 5:00 -7:00 pm at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Virginia Nichols Reasons of Dyersburg, one daughter Kelly Mailhes and husband David of Bartlett, one brother Dolphus Reasons of Germantown and two grandchildren Matthew Steven Escarre of Bartlett and Lauren Ashley Mailhes of Bartlett. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James Alton Reasons. The family requests memorials be directed to Finley United Methodist Church.
