James Dezzie Barnes

January 24, 1930 — June 11, 2014

James Dezzie Barnes, 84, of Ridgely died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a master carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a 3rd degree Mason, devout Christian, and Army Veteran. He was a dedicated family man and patriarch of his entire family. His generosity and goodwill touched many lives. Memorial services for Mr. Barnes will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Ridgely First United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend Sara Tate. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ruth Barnes, 5 daughters Lynn Roe of New River, AZ, Jeanne Dillingham of Fowlerville, MI, Janice Barnes and Shannon Brandau of Ridgely, Patsy McCaig of South Fulton, 1 brother Joel "Jody" Barnes of Niles, MI, 1 sister Cyndi Beymer of Phoenix, AZ, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his 2 sons James Dezzie Barnes, Jr., Darryl Lee Barnes, 2 sisters Evelyn Modean Talkington and Eileen Barnes, 1 brother Edward "Bug" Barnes and his parents Lily Mabel and James Leonard Barnes.
