Charles Wesley Patton, Sr., 72, of Dyersburg died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Born October 25, 1941 to A.D. and Mildred Wimms Patton, he was the owner of Charlie's Auto Repair Shop. Funeral services for Mr. Patton will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Jerry Patton. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Charles Wesley Patton, Jr., David Bock, David Leggett, Richard Miller, Larry Baker, Hank Cockrell and Jason Goodrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Darren Hill, Bill Baker, Dickson Heathcott, Gerald Finley and Jeff Streiler. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 29th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Brenda Patton; 3 daughters, Kelley Patton Obligacion (Hank Cockrell) of Jackson, Teri Bock (David) of Newbern, Cecilia (Suzy) Patton of Dyersburg; 1 son, Charles Wesley Patton, Jr. of Dyersburg; 3 brothers, Thomas Patton and Jerry Patton (Wilma) both of Dyersburg, Donnie Patton (Karen) of Olive Branch, MS; 4 grandchildren Jessica Patton, Athena Bock, Jace Patton, Jeremy Baker and 1 great-grandchild Justus Patton. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Martha Clark, Carolyn Copeland and Debbie Pevahouse. The family requests memorials be directed to American Cancer Society.
