Evelyn Walton Curtis, 91, of Dyersburg died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 28, 1923 to Wiley Travis and Lillie Mai Carson Walton. She retired in 1984 from Dyersburg Fabrics and was a former employee of Parkview Hospital. She attended Cornerstone Church of God. Funeral services for Mrs. Curtis will be Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Reverend O.L. Hart and Reverend Jason Houston officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Dion Riley, Taylor Curtis, Tom Wiza, Jason Rice, Chase Riley and Austin Gregory. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home. She is survived by one daughter Ruth Rice (Tommy) of Tigrett, one son Gerald Curtis (Ann) of Dyersburg, five grandchildren, Deidre Wiza, Dion Riley, Taylor Curtis, Mary Evelyn Scott, Curtis Lance Hood, one step grandchild Jason Rice, eight great-grandchildren, Diana Haggard, Chase Riley Lisa Gregory, Samantha Scott, T.J. Scott, Emilee Curtis, Eliza Curtis, Trey Scott, two step great grandchildren, Eric Rice, Georgia Kate Rice and one great-great-grandchild Rebekah Ethel Grace "Reggie" Haggard. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Raymond Curtis, her grandson George Allen Hood, Jr. and her great granddaughter Rebekah Crittendon.
