Arthur "Buddy" Baker, 68, of Ridgely died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Born July 17, 1946 to Stephen Harrison and Flonnie May Crabtree Baker, he was a retired farmer and member of Cottonwood Baptist Church in Ridgely. Funeral services for Mr. Baker will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Cottonwood Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Adams officiating. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Roy Humphreys, Jr., Wayne Cranford, Tommy Lynch, Doug Work, Cyler Hudson and Gene Pope. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 5th from 5-8 pm at the church. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Betty Baker of Ridgely, four sisters Bertie Lemonds of Dyersburg, Mary Jane McLain (Wayne) of Memphis, Loretta Ferguson of Brownsville, Ruby Williams (Dennis) of Adamsville and two brothers Lonnie Baker (Cathy) of South Carolina, Johnny Baker (Sylvia) of Hawkpoint, MO and his brother-in-law Bryant Watson of Ridgely. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn Spence, Irene Westmaland, Murtie Baker and two brothers Roy Baker and James Westmaland.
