Peggy Sue Land, 60, of Gadsden died Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in Gadsden. Born September 29, 1953 to George Edward and Gertrude Agnes White Aden, she was a homemaker and a member of Harvest Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Land will be at 1:00 pm Friday, August 15, 2014, in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Reverend Nathe Ozment officiating. Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be David Cobb, Jonathan Pugh, Mike Lewis, Spenser Pilkington, Ryan Fortenberry and Ricky Aden. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 14th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. She is survived by her husband Terry Land of Gadsden; 3 daughters Regina Kelley Lewis (Mike) of Newbern, Rachel Kelley Childress of Finley, Carrie Fortenberry (Ryan) of Gadsden; 5 sisters, Verlie Young (Jimmy), Sue Gruggett, both of Dyersburg, Ruby Cobb (David), Wanda Smith, both of Friendship, Cheryl Byrd of Spring Hill, FL; 2 brothers, James Aden and Ricky Aden, both of Dyersburg; 7 grandchildren, Kristen Kelley, Spenser Pilkington, Sarah Lewis, Jon-Micheal Lewis, Emma Childress, Talan Fortenberry, Aslynn Fortenberry, 1 great-granddaughter, Kenley Kelley and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 sister, Janie Waggoner and 1 brother, Charles Aden. The family requests memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
