Madie N. Davis

Madie N. Davis, 80, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was born November 17, 1934 to the late William Grant and Betty Lucilla Biggers Sumners. She was a retired receptionist and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Loren Stephens and Dr. Mark Davis. Interment will follow Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, MO. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Glenn Brown, John Goodwin, Anthony Davis, Jason Reams, Michael Reams and Alex Brown. The family will receive friends Friday, April 10th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. She is survived by her husband Thomas W. Davis; 2 daughters, Kathy Goodwin (John) of Okawville, IL, Karen Brown (Glenn) of Olive Branch, MS; 1 son Keith Darnell of Steele, MO; 4 sisters, Shirley Dodd of Steele, MO, Alice Jacobi and Carolyn Hager of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ruth Ann Dougherty of Bonsall, CA; 1 brother, Jerry Sumners of Olathe, KS; 4 grandchildren, Jason Reams, Michael Reams, Alex Brown, Lauren VanTine and 6 great-grandchildren, Roman Reams, Evelyn Reams, Joshua Reams, Kale VanTine, Jaxson VanTine and Radley VanTine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Joe Darnell and 1 brother, Carey Grant Sumners.
