A.T. "Buck" Garner, 92, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was born January 29, 1923 to the late Cager and Ottie Edna Garner. He was a retired certified public accountant. Mr. Garner was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1951 where he taught Jr Boys (11-12 year olds) for 35 years, was a deacon, treasurer for 39 years, trustee and sang with the Men's Chorale. He was a former member of the Dyersburg Jaycees, Kiwanis Club, 32 degree Mason Lodge and a volunteer Red Coat at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center for 16 years. Funeral services for Mr. Garner will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2015 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Mike Hickman. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Kent Ford, Brian Klinkhammer, Chuck Moore, Jimmy Bailey, Jeff Thomas, Rusty Jackson, Greg Ford, Jeff Ford, Eric Klinkhammer and Quinton Thurmond. The family will receive friends Friday, August 14th beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Tyner of Collierville; two sons, James Allen Garner and Steve Garner, both of Dyersburg; 5 sisters, Linnie Johnson of Henderson, Lynn Morrow (Thomas) of Smithville, MS, Earline Burns of Steele, MO, Judy Barnes (Rick) of Hattiesburg, MS, Janice Maravelias (Mike) of Fort Worth, TX, 4 brothers, J.W. Garner (Audrey) of Memphis, Ray Garner of Sturgis, MS, Bill Garner (Peggy) of Mount Olive, AL, Ruel Garner (Myra) of Keller, TX, 3 grandchildren, Jason Glen Tyner, Lindsey Nicole Tyner and Colby Mitchell Tyner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Sue W. Garner (2002), 4 sisters, Bonnie Hurst, Nell Smith, Martha Shappley and Jo Ellen Biddle.
