Bobby Jean Jimerson Ayars

Bobby Jean Jimerson Ayars, 84, of Ridgely, TN died Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Union City Nursing and Rehabilitation.  She was born January 14, 1931 to the late Orben Talmus Jimerson and Lona Mae Ellis. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ridgely, TN and a graduate of the former Ridgely High School.   Mrs. Ayars was a stewardess with American Airlines, flying out of their Chicago, IL and Dallas-Fort Worth, TX crew bases.  She and her sister Mary Lou Jimerson Harpole, both of Ridgely attended American Airlines Stewardess College in Chicago and graduated July 9, 1953 with 125 other classmates (the largest class ever to receive their wings at one time).  She was an active member of the American Airlines KIWI organization.   She later moved to Sunnyvale, CA where she became a homemaker and raised her four sons.  After returning to Tennessee she earned a Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate and became a home health nurse.   She is survived by her sons: Scott Ayars of Santa Rosa, CA; Christopher Ayars of Petaluma, CA; and Timothy Ayars and wife Allison of Templeton, CA.  She is also survived by three grandchildren: Joshua Ayars of Ashland, OR; Amber Galdieri of Los Gatos, CA; and, Jenni Kasarjian of Atascandero, CA and six great-grandchildren.  Bobby Jean also leaves to grieve her, her nephews, Dr. Joe Harpole, Jr. of Chester, VA and Dr. Steve Harpole of Union City, TN and their families, including her brother-in-law, Dr. Joe Harpole, Sr., of Union City, TN.  She also leaves several nieces and nephews.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Rex Ayars and her sister Mary Lou Jimerson Harpole. She will be privately laid to rest with her parents in New Haven Cemetery at Ridgely, TN.   Online condolences are available on our website – www.curryfuneral.com.
