James Alton "Tip" Walton, Sr.

James Alton “Tip” Walton, 70, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.  Born October 3, 1945, he was the son of the late Richard and Dora Lee Williamson Walton. He was retired from Dyersburg Fabrics.  

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, February 15, 2016 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Brother Calvin Smith with interment to follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.   

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Sunday, February 14th at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Walton; his daughter, Raineora Griffin (Steve) of Dyersburg; his son, James Alton Walton, Jr. (Lori) of Ripley; his sister, Alice Carroll of Dyersburg; his brother, David Walton (Donna) of Finley; 4 grandchildren, Robin Lynn Griffin, Zev Griffin, Aron Griffin and Joshua Isiah Walton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Walton.
