Dollie Nawasa Jonas, 71, of Ridgely, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at The Bridge at Ridgely. Born June 19, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Arthur “Bob” Daniel Jonas and Mary Louise Franks Jonas. She was a member of the Cunningham United Methodist Church of Gratio, a former director of the Professional Development Center, and a motivational speaker. Nawasa is best known across this whole area THE master storyteller.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, in the Ridgely Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend John Lowrance with interment to follow in New Haven Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Jonas, Mike Lanier, Tommy Gunn, Dannie Jonas, David Montgomery, Mike Montgomery. Cannon Loughry will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her brother, Dannie B. Jonas of Obion.
In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Bobby Franklin Jonas, Jere Lynn Jonas, and Gerald Dewayne Jonas; and three sisters: Martha Rachel Jonas, Reba Verlene Jonas and Imogene Jonas Beeler.
