Mary "Tootie" Pope

Mary “Tootie” Pope, 76, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Dyersburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Born July 27, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Floy Samples Dennard. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Ronnie Turner with interment to follow in Yorkville Cemetery.   

Pallbearers will be Lynn Parker, Max Turner, Cordale Robertson, Craig Parker, Johnny Hutcherson, Neal Chambers, William Parker and Lloyd Hill.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 13th beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

She is survived by her son, Billy Pope (Jennifer) of Dyersburg; two grandchildren, Brooke Turner (Max) of Covington, Justin Kelly of Louisiana; two nieces, Angela Canjar of Melbourne, FL, Kelly Puterbaugh of Sanford, FL and her beloved grandcat, Boots Pope.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Hammie Pope, Jr.; one son, Buddy Kelly and her sister, Jean Kuter.
