June L. Basham, 84, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Dyersburg Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born January 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Bertha Simpson White. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. She served the community in health care during her career. She loved to travel and with her military husband, lived in several states and countries. She was an avid quilter and loved to crochet. She cherished her family and friends and loved giving from the heart. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2016 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Chuck Kohley and Elder Harold Roddy with interment to follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Russell Grigsby, Thomas Cross, Jr., Thomas Cross, III, William Cross, Olen Parker and Paul Moss, Jr..
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 25th beginning at 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home.
She is survived by her three daughters, Cindy Zpevak (Michael) of Austin, TX; Debra Barnes (John) of Dyersburg, Tammy Duke (Michael) of Nashville; two sisters, Mary Jo Moss (Tommy) of Dyersburg, Peggy Golden of Knoxville; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Douglas Basham; her son Todd Douglas Basham; four sisters, Lorelle Archer, Zelda Seratt, Bee White, Jean Blackburn and one brother, Roscoe White.
The family requests memorials be directed to the American Heart Association.
