Joyce Evelyn Jackson Lumley, 82, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional Hospital. Born April 16, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Walter Edward and Laura Sue Lovins Jackson. She was a homemaker and member of Southside Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2016 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Loren Stephens with interment to follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Larry Frye, Cody Summerlin, Fabio Trasolini, Mitchell White, Brian Nichols and Scott Ross.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 12th from 5:00 – 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by two daughters, Nita Wetzel of Dyersburg, Sherri Trasolini of Newbern; three sons, William Nichols of Hot Springs, AR, Tim Nichols of Friendship, James White of Finley; four step-daughters, Patricia Walton of Dresden, Ann Thompson, Ivy Muncrief, both of Dyersburg, Brenda Bowles of Finley; one sister, Dorothy Jackson of Springfield, TN; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis Lumley, Jr.; two sons, David Nichols, Tommy White; one sister, Mary Sue Ennis and five brothers, Walter “Buddy” Jackson, Ernest Jackson, Billy Jackson, Alvie Jackson and Charles Burk.
The family requests memorials be directed to the American Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
