Betty J. Baker, 78, of Ridgely, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at The Bridge at Ridgely. Born January 18, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William Jennings and Birdie Maie Dean Watson. She was a former cook at Dorthy’s Restaurant for 17 years and member of Cottonwood Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Baker will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Cottonwood Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Adams officiating. Interment to follow in New Haven Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Doug Work, Daryl Cox, Charles Stewart, Garrett Shelton, Dennis Richardson and Paul Adams.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning until service time at the church.
She is survived by two sisters, Lizzie McFadden of Milan, Vickie Murray of Hornbeak; three brothers, Bryant Watson (Tammy) of Ridgely, Daniel Watson (Connie) of Murfreesboro and David Watson of Greenfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur “Buddy” Baker and three brothers, Junior Watson, Louis Watson and Lloyd Watson.
