Edith Darlene Myers, 89, of Dyersburg, died Monday, February 20, 2017 at The Bridge at Ridgely. Born February 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Grady and Lola Scott Buchanan. She was the first dietician at Dyersburg State Community College, former dietician at Parkview Hospital, retired dietician from Dyersburg Fabrics and a member of Lake Road Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February, 24, 2017 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Rusty Hilliard with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Hilliard, Sr., David Hilliard, Rodger Skinner, John Rausch, Matthew Faulk and Ray Faulk. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Martin and Tony Warth.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 23rd from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
She is survived by two daughters, Anna Sue Pierce of Ridgely, Faye Hope Weeks of Dyersburg; one son, Odell “Buddy” Weeks, of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Curtis Myers; two daughters, Teresia Gail Hilliard, Carolyn Jane Skinner; her sister, Martha Buchanan Eskridge; two brothers, J.C. Buchanan, Gerald David Buchanan; and grandson, Patrick Skinner.
