Lawrence Bell, 68, of Ridgely, died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Baptist Hospital Union City. Born March 11, 1948, he was the son of the late William Delbert Bell and Katie Pearl Collier Bell. He was a retired commercial fisherman and a well-known card player and pool shark of Ridgely.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in the Ridgely Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Carl Southerland with interment to follow in New Haven Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Minnick, Cotton Brewer, Jerry Cole, Timmy Dean, Travis McKay and Josh Rickman. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Woods, Bob Pope, Jackie Howell and Daniel Cowpoke.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 7th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife Frances Bell of Ridgely; two daughters, Lisa Rivers (Josh), Lauren Bell (Matt), both of Ridgely; one son, Lee Bell (Chasity) of Union City; his mother, Katie Bell of Dyersburg; one brother, Jerry Bell of Obion; 3 sisters, Linda Hutcheson, June Watkins, both of Hornbeak, Pam Kemp of Florida; his niece who cared for him, Kayla Rickman (Josh) of Ridgely; and thirteen grandchildren, Dakota Bell, Shelby Bell, Dillon Rivers, Ty Rivers, Lucas Rivers, Kayde Mae Rivers, Lily Rivers, Alivia Rivers, Conner Bell, Cooper Rivers, Carly Morgan, Julie Morgan and Noah Rickman.
Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Nick Bell and his brother, Donald Bell.
