Otis Mathina, 79, of Tiptonville, died Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Reelfoot Manor. Born March 5, 1938, he was the son of the late John Jackson “Jack” and Susie Essary Mathina. He was a former Pastor of Madie Crossing Church of God.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017 in the Ridgely Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Clayton Mahan conducting the services with interment to follow in New Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from Sunday, June 4th from 5:00 – 8:00 at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Mathina of Hayti, MO; one daughter, Sheila Bryson (James) of Newbern; one step-daughter, Theresa Wallace (Tony) of Indianapolis, IN; one sister, Margaret Smothers of Wynnburg; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wives, Shirley Tucker Mathina, Carol Steele Mathina; one son, Terry Lee Mathina; three sisters, Bonnie Smith, Marie Smothers, Brenda Mauldin; and two brothers, Leon Mathina and Jerry Mathina.
