Bettye J. Lemon

Bettye J. Lemon, 83, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Dyersburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation.  Born August 22, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Pat and Mary Garner Lyles.  She was a homemaker and member of Parr Avenue Church of Christ.                          

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, July 21, 2017 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Parks Thurmon with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.                     

Pallbearers will be Jason Allbright, Bradley Hopgood, Matthew Mayo, Blake Newsom, Nathan Newsom and David Payne.   

The family will receive friends from Thursday, July 20th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.                                   

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Newsom and husband, Bill, Jr., of Newbern, Pam Mayo and husband, Steve, of Cincinnati, OH; a son, Danny Lemon and wife, Merrill, of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren, Shelley Payne and husband, David, of Bartlett, Alicia Lemon, Jenna Lemon, Nathan Newsom and wife, Carrie, all of Dyersburg, Blake Newsom and wife, Erin, of Halls, Matthew Mayo and wife Marissa, of Bowling Green, KY, Melissa Allbright and husband, Jason, all of Burlington. KY, Mackenzie Mayo of Bowling Green, KY; and three great-grandchildren, Bentley Teeter, Tinley Newsom, Ty Newsom; and one sister, Nelda Nichols of Columbia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Martin Lemon (01/09/2013); and her brother, Wayne Lyles.
