Jerry Wayne Sims, 71, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional. Born August 11, 1946, he was the son of the late Patterson “Pat” and Bessie Hickerson Sims. Jerry Wayne attended First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Buck Tarpley Life Group, but he was a lifetime member of Finley United Methodist Church. He was a retired automobile dealer and was known for his lifelong love of buying, selling, racing, and collecting cars. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Mike Hickman. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 26th beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Chyrel Sims; two daughters, Stephanie Sims Cross (John) of Knoxville, Stacye Sims of Nashville; three grandchildren, Connor Cross, Cooper Cross, Mary Sims Cross, all of Knoxville; his brother, James Allen Sims (Dottie) of Murray, KY; and his brother-in-law, Jim Daniels of Dyersburg.
