Douglas Wayne Wilkerson

Douglas Wayne Wilkerson 74, died Sunday, December 10, 2017 at his residence.  Born June 4, 1943, he was the son of the late Clyde and Elizabeth (Betsy) Wilkerson.  Doug served his country with 10 years active duty in the United States Marine Corp and a veteran of the Vietman War. One of his accomplishments during his military service was as a Chinese interpreter. Doug was an attorney and member of the First United Methodist Church.                             

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017, conducted by Reverend Ed White at Fairview Cemetery. 

 Larry White, Gene Bolte, Mike Gauldin, Steve Stafford, Jimmy Moody and Monte Warren will serve as pallbearers.

The Wilkerson family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday morning at the funeral home.    

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Wanda Wilkerson; son, Kevin Wilkerson (Patty) of Dyersburg, son Brandon Blalock of Dallas, TX; daughter Tisha Blalock Burke (JB) of Milwaukee, WI; granddaughters, Holly Elizabeth Wilkerson, Jayne Anne Teague (Benjamin), both of Dyersburg; grandson Teagan Joseph Burke of Milwaukee, WI; sister June Palmer (John) of Dyersburg; nephew Joe Palmer and niece Julie Palmer, both of Dyersburg.    

The family requests memorials be directed to the donor’s choice.
