Charles Alfred Finley, Jr.

Charles Alfred Finley, Jr., 74, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Born August 2, 1943, he was the son of the late Charles Alfred Finley, Sr. and Jane Weakley Finley. Mr. Finley attended Murray State University and the University of Tennessee. He was a farmer, cattleman, and landowner. Mr. Finley was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and had served in the the Air National Guard stationed in Memphis.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018 in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend Ed White with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Dr. Jim Caylor, Brandon Leslie, Lee Schultz, and Tommy Weakley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Ewell, John W. Hart, Claude Lecklitner, Ben Ragan and Jack Todd. The Finley family will receive friends Sunday, January 21st beginning at 12:30 p.m. until service time in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathy Stevens Finley; one daughter, Holly Finley Hester; one son, Charles Alfred “Chip” Finley, III (Lori); four grandchildren, Finley White Leslie (Brandon), Claire White, Elizabeth Finley Schultz (Lee), Rachel Finley; and one great- grandson, Samuel Lee Schultz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Mary Peyton Finley and his sister, Linda Louise Finley.
