Luella Anderson Slaughter, 91, of Bogota, died Monday, May 21, 2018 at The Highlands of Dyersburg. Born May 30, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Mollie Dixon Anderson. She was a member of the Bogota Baptist Church and an avid gardener.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2018. Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
Steve Scott, Mike Scott, Zack Tolley, Donnie Tolley, Shawn Morrison and David Montgomery will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 24th from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by one son, Danny Eugene Slaughter (Ruby) of Ridgely; one grandson, Steven Slaughter (Jessica) of Bogota; one granddaughter, Mitzi Gibson of Dyersburg; seven great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Slaughter; one son, Jewell Edward Crum; two grandsons: Danny Crum and Robert Charlie Slaughter; one great-grandson: Kodey E.B.L. Slaughter; two sisters and four brothers.
The family requests memorials be directed to Ronald McDonald House of Memphis, 535 Alabama Avenue, Memphis, TN 38105.
