Margaret Moody “Tippy” Roach, 77, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, August 16, 2018 at West Tennessee Healthcare – Dyersburg Hospital. Born March 27, 1941, she was the daughter of the late P.T. and Margaret Moody. Tippy was actively involved as a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and volunteered in the Host program at local schools. She returned to Dyersburg after the death of her husband to care for her elderly parents. She reconnected with childhood friends and enriched the lives of everyone around her. She followed in her parents footsteps by being an avid baker for her friends.
Tippy was so full of life and love. She got so excited about the little things we all take for granted. She had a passion for art and culture and flowers. She loved to sit and draw, but she also loved to get up and dance! She was fun to be around, and nothing beat her west Tennessee drawl, her sweet giggle, her beautiful smile, and that shock of red hair.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church. A reception will follow at the church.
She is survived by her two children, daughter Anne Margaret Stovall of Houston, TX, son John Tipton Roach of the San Francisco Bay Area; and three grandchildren, Mackenzie Lynn Roach, KaiLeigh Tipton Roach of the San Francisco Bay Area and Sydney Allen Stovall of Houston, TX; and uncle Dr. Joe Moody of College Station, TX.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Roach.
The family requests memorials be directed to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 108 N. King Avenue, Dyersburg, TN 38024.
Cremation services are under the direction of Curry Funeral Home. We are privileged and honored to serve the Roach family. You may share your condolences and your memories with the family at www.curryfuneral.com.
