Jeff Burns is from Dyersburg, TN and is married to Karen W. Burns. They have three children, Robyn Russell (Eddie), Dyersburg, TN, Kelly Montgomery (Alex), Searcy, AR, and Emma Burns, Waco, TX. He and Karen have two grandsons, Spencer and Callan. Karen is the Chief Deputy Assistant District Attorney for Dyer and Lake Counties.

Jeff is a 2000 graduate of Vincennes University. He has a law enforcement background and also retired as a First Sergeant (1SG) in 2018 after 22 years of active Army service. Jeff and Karen are currently active members of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dyersburg, TN.
